Promax Hot Spot: Sound Tells the Whole Story in Oxygen’s ‘Murder for Hire’
MFH.png

In its latest true-crime series, Oxygen’s Murder for Hire explores the dark world of contract killings, showcasing some of the most fascinating murder-for-hire cases ever to be caught on tape.

To promote the show, Oxygen turned mostly to its in-house creative team, with a little help with the graphics from Los Angeles and London-based agency Kill 2 Birds. The promos rely heavily on sound, expertly tracked to the video, and on grainy hidden-camera footage that makes the viewer feel like they are eavesdropping on a secret.

The series comes from Dick Wolf, creator of the Law & Order and Chicago franchises on NBC.

Murder for Hire airs premieres Sunday, April 7, on Oxygen at 7/6 c.

“Oxygen takes its new-ish focus on true crime and mashes it up with a favorite Christmas tradition—the stop-motion Christmas special starring Santa Claus.

In this take, created with help from Brooklyn-based stop-motion studio Mosomos, Santa’s got some explaining to do after a persistent cop stops him due to super-slow driving and finds something entirely unexpected in the trunk of his sleigh.

The Christmas campaign runs on Oxygen’s linear network as well as across its digital platforms and viewers who want to know what happens to our wayward Santa can follow @Oxygen on Instagram.”

Oxygen Campaign - Promax Featured Work
a tonal palette to amplify the motion, urgency and intensity of the series

In February 2004, Maura Murray emptied her bank account, drove four hours from school, crashed her car, got out and vanished.

Oxygen’s original investigative series The Disappearance of Maura Murray takes a deep dive into the 13-year-old unsolved case that sparked a social media frenzy.

Teasers for the show use a tonal palette to amplify the motion, urgency and intensity of the series. It follows investigative journalist Maggie Freleng as she attempts to unravel a rabbit hole of unexplored leads, eyewitness discrepancies, missing evidence and questionable actions.

The series comes on the heels of Oxygen’s success with The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway. It premieres Saturday, September 23.
